 Little Development Update
 Posted by Chad on Apr 18 2009 - 04:20 pm| Views (32)
deoxmsI just wanna update everyone on the status of our development.
DeoXMS is coming out nicely, and functions perfectly. We killed a few bugs yesterday that we have found and such. The frontend is mostly complete, however, we need to update the admin control panel. It sat for a while the frontend was changed without changing the Admin CP.

We also created a phpBB integration, which displays topics as News from set forums. There are also phpBB integrated menus that allow a single logon, using one member base instead of a DeoXMS member base and a seperate phpBB member base. If they register on either the site or phpBB, they are also registered for the other.

Very soon in the very near future, we will be updating the main site to the new improved DeoXMS and the forum will be converted to phpBB.

I can't express in words of how excited I am to be moving along in this development.

Many exciting things will be happening here at DeoX Designs. end_article.gif

 DXFrame, DeoXMS Update
 Posted by Chad on Apr 14 2009 - 10:50 am| Views (29)
deoxms Anybody that is interested in an update to the developments going on here, well, here it is.

Currently, our main focus here is getting our forums converted over to phpBB, which when DeoX Forum is more usable, we will be converting over to that. Which will be a much easier conversion, lol.

So far now, on the development server (which happens to be a 2Gb thumbdrive), DeoXMS and the other software (DXFrame, DeoX Forums etc..) is just kinda sitting there looking pretty.

As far as DeoXMS goes, I am going through the source and reducing redundancy and optimizing where need be.
Most of the framework is there for a complete system, its just a matter of adding all the pieces.

DXFrame will be where most of the magic happens with DeoXMS, DeoX Forum, and any other program running as a module of DXFrame.

DeoXMS will be great once its released, its just a matter of getting it out there.
However, I know there are some out there that have looked forward to DeoXMS, but kinda gave up on it. Thinking it will always be a no go.

I'm commited to getting it done, but I don't want it to be out the door until I am pleased with it. Which means getting whats there now in a workable format for the end user.

 dxBB3Convertor, IPB 1.3 to phpBB3.0.4
 Posted by Chad on Apr 9 2009 - 04:28 pm| Views (624)
For those that want the beta of dxBB3Convertor, which converts IPB 1.3 to phpBB3, you can download it here.

If you need support, please do not post on the phpBB forums for support. We will not be providing support for it there.
You must post your support questions here. It will be much easier for us to keep track of support by keeping support topics here.

As a note, we are not trying to take you away from the phpBB forums, we encourage you to participate in the phpBB community. It is a great place.

UPDATE:
Folks, I forgot to add, once you try out the program, let me know how it went for you. I need to know where its having problems, if any so I can fix them.
After it converts, it probably would have been a good idea to show a summary of what it did, opps. I'll add that into the next update.
Also, you'll notice that when the program is running the operations, it doesn't convert over private messages. After I wasted a whole day on working out the formats, I said screw it. Matt did PMs in such a sloppy way that it wasn't worth trying to clean it up before converting it.

And as such, I present to you, dxBB3Convertor Beta 1:

UPDATE
Attachment quit working, you may download directly from here:

DeoXMS Update, DXFrame, DeoX Forum, DeoX Cart
 Posted by Chad on Jun 5 2008 - 01:46 am| Views (261)
deoxmsJust wanted to update all of you on whats happening with DeoX Suite which includes all programs running under DXFrame. Consists of DeoXMS, DeoX Forum and DeoX Cart.

I have to say that the program is beautiful and runs great. I just need to finish off some things, place some features on hold and what not. I want to get this thing out the door and save some of the cooler features for later releases. Trust me guys, your going to love these programs. They are fantastic.

Let me give you some more insight on whats going on. My apartment was broken into and I moved back with my parents to get back on track financially. Unfortunately, they only have dial up access and its extremely slow. I'm not even hitting 56k speeds, I'm talking 16k to 26k speeds. The phone line is crap.
Anyways, this has hampered my development progress without high speed access for references.

I'm working on sorting this out guys, just bear with me. I know a lot of you have been waiting so long. Trust me, I want to get this thing to you guys. Its amazing at what you can do.

So give me some time and I'll get this out the door ASAP. Plus, you'll be able to look forward to the cool features I have planned for this thing. However, I cannot include them now or this thing will never see the outside world. So some will be in v1.1 and so on and others for a 2.0 release.

Thanks guys and hang in there, this thing is coming.

 DeoX Programming, At Its Best
 Posted by Chad on Nov 21 2007 - 12:41 pm| Views (344)
deoxms So I have learned that news titles are not my thing. Obviously, the title is crap. But, on to better things.
DeoX Programming has become something of an art.

Mainly because DeoXMS, DeoX Forum, and DeoX Cart now have a framework going on.
What this means is all three programs now run under one essential core. Not only that, this core does not need to be installed for each program, install it once and its good for all programs.

Technically, it turns all three programs into one; but then again, some could argue otherwise considering the nature of how it works.

This also allows you to run multiple instances of each program easily just by making new skins and configuration files and thats it. What does this mean you ask? Means the long forgotten feature known as "Virtual Sites" is now a reality! No, that does not mean the title as change to reality sites.

Also, by doing this, each program uses the same member base, however, can use different member bases if need be.
Although, we have discovered a bug with this issue. That bug involves the infamous cookies. We all love cookies, but we found that Domains don't like to share cookies. The really are selfish.
So the member base only currently works on one domain only. Which is a real problem here at DeoX Designs. Considering we will be using the same member base on all our sites. However, we have two domains. So we are working very hard on this issue.

Developing has sped up quite a bit and DeoX programs are looking fantastic.

Also, news postings and others alike use a Rich Text Editor as long as your browser supports it.
If your wondering how it'll work, just think of Invision Power Boards RTE as they use the same RTE editor as we are. Except with ours, you can actually use the cut and paste buttons in Mozilla.

Their are a lot more cool things but to many to list here so stay tuned for further updates.
